A MOTORCYCLIST who died in a road collision in Fleetwood on Friday has been named.
He is George Dearden, 50, from Fleetwood.
Mr Dearden’s Yamaha motorcycle collided with a white Volkswagen delivery van close to the Asda store on Amounderness Way at around 3.40 on Friday.
A MOTORCYCLIST died after he crashed into a van performing a "stupid and dangerous" U-turn, a jury was told.
George Dearden's motorcycle hit the side of the van as its driver attempted to turn on Amounderness Way near Fleetwood.
The Driver turned back after an important piece of paper had blown out of his van's window.
He continued to the next roundabout and then drove back to look for the sheet.
When he got to the area where he thought the paper had blown away,the driver said he slowed down, checked each way before crossing on to the southbound carriageway.
But before he made it across, there was "an almighty bang" and the van's window shattered.
Mr Dearden, 50, of Fleetwood, was in collision with the passenger side of the van and was killed by the force of the impact.
after a second trial the driver was found guilty and sentenced to 2 years and to serve minimum of 12 months.

The Best Uncle in the World
The last thing i said to you was 'see you next week' but you knew u wouldnt see me fo '6 months' as you always joked. I regret them being my last words to you especially as i never got to tell you i was pregnant with my 3rd child. I named him Kaden George after you and everytime he smiles i know you smile with him.
